Power Quality Expert has been established since 2016 as specialist providers of Power Quality and Harmonic Surveys, BS:EN50160 Compliance Reports, IEEE-519 assessments, Energy Load Profiling and Power Quality Training. In 2018 we developed and launched the Power Quality Health Check to provide a portal based analysis and reporting writing service. Power Quality Expert are now pioneering a new approach to power quality for the electrical contracting industry, Power Quality as a Service (PQaaS), which offers power quality reporting available through a flexible subscription service. Our product portfolio compliments our power quality and energy services with a comprehensive range of electrical test and measurement equipment and fixed aM&T sub-metering power quality and energy management systems.
Power Quality Expert has been partnered with Polish test equipment manufacturer Sonel S.A. since 2016. We act on behalf of Sonel as their authorised representative and approved import agent for the UK and Ireland. Sonel have been established since 1994 and now now manufacture a complete range of electrical test and measurement equipment including Power Quality Analysers, High Current Fault Loop Impedance Meters, High Current Micro-Ohmmeters, Partial Discharge Meters, Earth Resistance Testers, UV Corona Camera, Thermal Imagers, HV Insulation Testers and High Voltage Cable Fault Detection equipment.
Power Quality Expert partnered with Italian energy management system manufacturer Electrex Akse in 2019. We act on behalf of Electrex as their authorised representative and approved import agent for the UK and Ireland. Electrex has designed, developed and manufactured sub-metering and software for electrical energy management, measurement and control since 1993. Their energy measurement solutions include Energy Meters, Power Quality Monitors, Energy Analysers, Power Quality Analysers and Power Quality Management Software. These solutions are actively used for energy efficiency and energy automation applications in a wide range of industrial, commercial, public, civil, and renewable energy sectors.
Power Quality Expert is partnered with Portuguese power quality solution manufacturer Elspec where we on their behalf as an authorised representative and approved import agent for the UK. Elspec is a leading global provider of advanced power quality analysers, power quality solutions and power monitoring software. Elspec focus on developing technology that will shift the power quality market to the next level. With over 35 years of experience, Elspec develop tailor-made power quality solutions along with state of the art power quality analysers to empower customers to succeed their power and energy challenges. These solutions include a real-time high performance power quality solution designed for wind farm grid compliance of Fault Ride Through (FRT) and Voltage Ride Though (VRT) events where a very deep voltage sag occurs.
Power Quality Expert is listed and approved with the Energy Technology List backed by the UK government Department of Energy Security and Net Zero. We are the largest stakeholder for Energy Monitoring and take an active role within the ETL and help to provide consultative guidance on power quality and energy measurement criteria for Portable Energy Measurement Equipment, Sub Metering and Energy Management Systems. The product approval and qualification for inclusion on the list provides independent verification that our power quality and energy products from our partners Sonel SA, Electrex Akse Srl and Elspec Portugal Lda are in the top 25% of power and energy monitoring test instrumentation currently available on the market.
Sonel MZC-306 fault loop impedance tester
Power Quality Expert are proud to have worked with Network Rail to gain product approval for the Sonel MZC-306 fault loop impedance tester. The Certificate of Acceptance PA05/07453 issued for the meters allows for their use on the Signalling Power feeders to make the measurements and calculations of the PSCC/Ik fault loop current on their 650V electrification network for NR/L2/SIGELP/50000 and NR/L3/SIGELP/50001.
Power Quality Expert has been a registered Commercial Associate member of the Electrical Contractors Association since 2018. Through our active involvement with the ECA, we have provided power quality training content for the ECA Learning Zone and contributed to the ECA technical guidance on Fault Loop Impedance Testing. We are proud to have sponsored the Project 18 Amendment 2 Roadshow in 2022, the Project Net Zero Roadshow in 2023, and the ECA 125th Anniversary in 2026.
