Description
Activar – Static Power Factor Correction System (SVC)
The Elspec Activar is a static VAR compensation system (SVC). It is a transient free solid state switching power factor correction system with high durability to compensate typical and stable loads. The Elspec Activar systems are specifically designed to compensate for dynamic loads with high reactive power consumption in relatively stable loads such as commercial buildings, hospitals and data centres.
Applications
- Welding Machines
- Plastic Injection Molding
- Harbour Cranes
- Electric Trains
- Hospitals
- High-Rise and Other Commercial Buildings
- Wind Energy
- Generators (Emergncy Standby and Stand-Alone Operation)
- Marine Vessels
Activars are electronic switching devices designed to replace electromechanically switched equipment in power factor correction (PFC) systems. The Activar uses SCR-SCR (silicon-controlled rectifier) electronic switches and sophisticated control algorithms that consider true power factor (PF) and all harmonics up to and including the 63rd harmonic order.
Key Features
- Automatic Power Factor correction system
- Transient-Free Solid-State Capacitor Switching
- Transient-Free Solid-State Capacitor Switching
- Heavy duty elements (capacitors, inductors and thyristors)
- Harmonic Filtration
- Harmonics Filtration (Passive)
Elspecs Activar can be utilized for slow variations of reactive energy demand and they are highly efficient to compensate lagging power factor, filter harmonics and enhance machinery operation life time. The Activar offers many features in one simple solution and has a high safety level thanks to its zero crossing switching.
