The Sonel Test PD is a new compact portal device to test for partial discharge on cables and cable joints on voltages under 6kV and higher. The meter uses an advanced system built into its software which allows the user to quickly establish the condition of the object under test.
The partial discharge test measurements (AC, HF and VHF) are displayed in a simple 4 colour histogram along with a cross section diagram of the HV cable. These measurements can also be sent from the meter to an Android tablet or phone over Bluetooth for remote reading of the results for when the Test PD is installed on an insulting stick to help bring it closer to the cable or joint.
